Alex Ricker-Gilbert is an esteemed and highly experienced athletic director in higher education. Having devoted over ten years to managing sports, he has proven to be a firm supporter of student-athletes, aiding their academic and field progress. Born and raised in Tolland, Connecticut, Ricker-Gilbert has been in Duval County, Florida, since 2014 after three years of living in Virginia. He is Senior Vice President and Director of Athletics at Jacksonville University; this private university on Jacksonville's northeast side is renowned for its 240-acre riverfront campus comprising over one hundred majors and distinct student programs. The university's athletics program is known as "the Dolphins". They participate competitively in the NCAA, ASUN, and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
As Senior Vice President and Director of Athletics, Ricker-Gilbert takes command of matters about the athletics department with remarkable skill and proficiency. His impressive tenure as Senior Associate Athletics Director at Jacksonville University was instrumental in his promotion to his current post. During his time there, he was responsible for many essential operations, such as implementing a Hall of Fame system and establishing a booster engagement program and enterprise risk management. He also managed compliance plus student-athlete services units while occasionally acting as Chief Athletics Officer.
